In 2005, Keating Resources permitted and developed the largest and only locally owned underground dolomite mine in Chicagoland. Owned by Mining International, the dolomite mine sold 1,000,000 of 182,000,000 recoverable tons of aggregate via truck and barge. Keating Resources then sold the mine ten years later, in September of 2015, to an aggregate business private entity, Bluff City Materials Group.
