The 750,000 square-foot building, the largest building in South Dakota, was built by Gateway on the 77-acre site in 6 phases from 1989 to 1997 for an estimated cost of over $70,000,000. The building had been completely vacant for over 10 years when KR acquired it. Keating Resources sold the building in separate pieces to several companies including an Ethereum mining company and a California-based medical manufacturing company. More than 1,000 people work at the campus today.
