In 2009, Keating Resources, with offices in Naples, Florida, Atkinson, Nebraska, and Geneva, Illinois, reactivated the POWC barge terminal. The barge terminal’s main functions were to load and unload over 800,000 tons of salt, aggregates and grain to and from barges for distribution throughout multiple Illinois markets, including Chicago. Then, in June of 2013, POWC sold the barge terminal to CenterPoint Properties.
