The Lander Wyoming-based Bregar family has acquired the facility, owners, and operators of a chain of 12 hardware stores across Wyoming and South Dakota, affiliated with the Ace Hardware and Do It Best brands.

Under the leadership of Alec Keating and father Gerard of Keating Resources, the transaction marks a significant milestone for the company, underscoring its strategic acumen in identifying and transforming underutilized properties into high-value assets. The facility, originally a long-vacant retail building purchased in October 2020, was meticulously renovated and repurposed into a climate-controlled self-storage center, reaching 78% occupancy before its sale.

Leveraging their extensive retail experience, the Bregar family plans to relocate and expand their current operations from an 8,000-square-foot Ace Hardware store in Custer to the entire 26,000-square-foot building. This move represents a significant upgrade in space and underscores the family’s commitment to serving the community with a broader range of products and services.
